Credentials Issued by the Journal
The Mandate Journal issues the following credential documents to eligible correspondents and contributors. All requests are processed by the Director of Press & Accreditation.
Letter of Assignment
An official letter on Journal letterhead, signed by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor, confirming a correspondent's assignment to cover a specific event, briefing, or beat. Required for all accreditation applications.
Masthead Verification Letter
A formal letter confirming a correspondent's listing on the Journal's official masthead, their title, beat, and accreditation eligibility. Accepted by State Department, White House, and FPC as institutional verification.
Press Identification Card
The Mandate Journal issues institutional press identification cards to all active staff correspondents. Cards include the correspondent's name, title, beat, and the Journal's contact information for verification.
Editorial Independence Certificate
A formal certificate attesting to the Journal's nonprofit status, nonpartisan editorial policy, and independence from governmental, commercial, and political influence. Required by some diplomatic missions and international bodies.

Credential Policy & Standards
The Mandate Journal's press accreditation policy governs the issuance of credentials, letters of assignment, and correspondent verification documentation. All credentials are issued in accordance with the Journal's editorial independence standards and nonprofit charter.
Eligibility Criteria
- —Active staff correspondent or credentialed contributor status
- —Listing on the current Editorial Masthead
- —Compliance with the Journal's editorial code of conduct
- —Assignment to a recognized beat or coverage area
- —No undisclosed conflicts of interest with the assigned coverage area
Prohibitions
- —Credentials may not be used for commercial, lobbying, or advocacy purposes
- —Correspondents may not represent any governmental or political entity while credentialed
- —Credentials are non-transferable and may not be shared
- —Misrepresentation of credential scope is grounds for immediate revocation
Revocation Policy
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to revoke credentials at any time for cause, including violation of the editorial code of conduct, misrepresentation, or conduct incompatible with the Journal's nonpartisan mission.
Appeal Process
Credential revocation decisions may be appealed in writing to the Director of Editorial Standards & Ethics within 14 days of notification.
